Equalities
As a Trade Union we are firmly committed to ensuring that there is true equality and diversity in our workplaces and local communites across the country. Our Equalities Department is at the forefront of the work that we do to ensure that people are treated fairly and with respect. We also make it clear that we all have a duty to challenge discrimination, harassment and bullying whenever possible.
Here at Unite Wales we have four equalities committees, disabled members, women, BAEM and LGBT+. Our committees meet on a regular basis to discuss the challenges that we face and plan how we can run campaigns to stamp our discrimination and promote our equalities agenda.
We also support and promote equalities events that take place in Wales. For example we have always supported Pride Cymru, Wear Red Day, International Women's Day and more recently we have also started to have a presence at and show support for local Pride events.
If you would like to know more about our Equalites Department or would like to find out how you can get involved in our activites then please contact our Equalities Officer at our Regional Office. You can also email at equalities.wales@unitetheunion.org
